GIRO Payment
Bnk_Pmt_GIRO GIRO provides you with convenient, paperless and cashless payment. Once your GIRO payment service is set up, you do not have to go through the hassle of remembering bill payment dates. It also eliminates the need to issue and sign cheques on different bill payment dates.

GIRO payment service is completely free for the customer. All you need to do is to maintain sufficient funds in the designated OCBC Bank account(s) for deduction on the due dates otherwise there will be a $10 administrative fee for every unsuccessful GIRO debit transaction.

Instructions:

  • Please fill up all required information as set out in Parts 1(A) and 1(B) of the GIRO application form. For StarHub, kindly fill in all required information in Parts 1 and 2.
  • Please indicate the account number of your OCBC Bank Current, Statement or Passbook Savings account.
  • Please mail back completed forms to the designated address stipulated on the form.

Why is the Bank promoting GIRO?
GIRO provides you with convenient, paperless and cashless payment. It enables you to make your monthly payments to billing organisations through your Current, Statement or Passbook Savings account. And the set-up is free!

 

How do I set up or change my existing GIRO payment arrangement (with another bank) to my OCBC Bank account?
You will just need to take the following steps:
  • Download the GIRO application form of your desired Billing Organisation
  • Complete all required information as set out in Parts 1(A) and 1(B) of the GIRO application form. For StarHub, complete all required information in Parts 1 and 2
  • Mail back the completed forms to the designated address stipulated on the form.

You will need to continue making payment through your existing bank until your billing organisation informs you of the new OCBC GIRO payment arrangement. Then you can inform the existing bank to terminate the current arrangement.

 

How do I know if my new application for GIRO payment service has been successful?
The Billing Organisation will indicate in the next bill the OCBC Bank account used for monthly deductions. Any new GIRO arrangements will take at least 30 days to be effected. If you do not receive any notification from your Billing Organisation on the new arrangement within 21 days, you may wish to contact your Billing Organisation to enquire about the status of your GIRO application.
