 What is SmartChange?

OCBC SmartChange is an innovative feature that helps you save while you spend. Every time you charge your purchases to your OCBC Credit Card, SmartChange will automatically round up your bill to the next dollar (known as Spare Change).

This spare change will then be transferred to an OCBC account of your choice. At the same time, the Bank will reward you by matching a certain percentage on the spare change amount (known as SmartChange Reward). You will also earn a Spending Rebate instead of OCBC$ on purchases with your OCBC Credit Card.

The total from your Spare Change, SmartChange Reward and Spending Rebate will be credited into your OCBC nominated account.

 What is SmartChange Reward?

This is the reward amount given by OCBC to the Cardmember.

The SmartChange Reward for the first 3 months is at 100% matching of Spare Change amount, subject to a maximum of S$188. After that, we will continue matching at 4.88%. (There is no cap to the 4.88% matching).

For example:
  Coffee                - $3.50
  Spare Change     - $0.50
  Dinner                - $15.20
  Spare Change    - $0.80
  SmartChange Reward for the month: $0.50 + $0.80 = $1.30
  (based on 100% matching)

The cap is based on per account basis. This means that if you have both Platinum and Titanium cards on SmartChange scheme, you can enjoy 100% matching of Spare Change, up to $188 on both cards (Total of $188 x 2 = $376)
