 Answers
1:What is ShieldWise?
  Ans: ShieldWise plan is a personal accident plan that pays accidental death benefit, total permanent disablement benefit. Additional cash benefits if accidental death or total permanent disablement occurs whilst in public conveyance and due to specified natural disasters and accidental medical expenses.  If your child is enrolled with Child Rider, he/ she will be covered with additional medical expenses due to specified infectious diseases and animal bites, education fund benefit and get well benefit.

2:Who can apply ShieldWise?
  Ans: This plan is eligible to all OCBC customers who have a deposit/Credit Card/EasiCredit account. You can also apply ShieldWise for your spouse and child(ren).

3:Are there any age criteria in applying ShieldWise?
  Ans: The insured adult must be aged from 18 to 65 years old and the insured child must be aged from 15 months to 18 years old and from 18 to 25 years if child is in recognized full-time tertiary education institution to apply. For the insured adult, this plan is renewable up to age 75 years old subject to OAC Insurance’s approval.

4:Does an insured child enjoy the same benefit limit as an insured adult?
  Ans: An insured child is covered at 20% for section 1, 2 and 3 and at 50% for section 4 of the adult’s limit.

5:Can I apply ShieldWise for a third party?
  Ans: You can only apply ShieldWise for your spouse and children. Your relatives and friends can apply ShieldWise on their own if they are OCBC account holders.

6:Are there any eligibility criteria on occupation?
  Ans: Yes. This plan is not applicable for police force/ fire service/ civil defense/ military/ CISCO personnel, security officers/guards, chauffeurs, taxi/ despatch/ heavy vehicle/ delivery van drivers, air crew, ship crew, professional sportsperson, occupations involved in diving, oil-rig platform, on-board vessel or offshore work, occupations of hazardous nature such as involving height, depth or heat.

7:I already have a ShieldWise or EnhancedCare or FlexiCare or Double Protector policy with OAC Insurance, can I still apply?
  Ans: No, because you can only be covered under one of the stated policy with OAC Insurance.

8:I already have a ShieldWise policy with OAC Insurance. But I want to apply for my spouse and/or children. What should I do?
  Ans: To add coverage for your spouse and/or children, please contact OAC Insurance Customer Service at 6248 2662 (Mon - Fri, 9am - 5pm) for assistance.

9:I already have a personal accident plan with other insurer. Can I still apply ShieldWise?
  Ans: Yes, you can as this plan pays on top of your existing plan with the other insurer.
