For full-time undergraduates of NUS/NTU, you can now apply for a Tuition Fee Loan from OCBC Bank.
Announcement
The Ministry of Education previously announced to offer a 1-year suspension of repayments and interest accruals from 1 April 2009 to 31 March 2010 (the “Suspension Period”) for all graduates who have taken the Tuition Fee Loan or Overseas Student Program Loan (which is applicable for Singaporeans only) to help them cope with the economic downturn. This Suspension Period will expire on 31 March 2010. If your obligations for loan repayments were due during the Suspension Period, you are now required to re-commence your loan repayments with effect from 1 April 2010. Following this, please note that (where applicable) the loan interest will be automatically levied on the loans with effect from 1 April 2010 and (where applicable) penalty interest will also be imposed if you do not re-commence your loan repayments by 1 April 2010.
For borrowers who were previously making loan repayments prior to the Suspension Period, you are only required to activate your repayment account at the branch or via the internet banking website. Please ensure that you maintain sufficient funds in the designated repayment account for the monthly loan repayments. For borrowers who do not have an existing repayment plan and intends to start instalment payments, please print and complete the Repayment Form / Repayment Form (for Borrowers Withdrawn from University) and submit to the designated department (as stated in the form) or any OCBC Branch.
